Cookies from the past - part 1

I decided that I should post the pics that I previously posted on facebook over here for you blog readers that don't see facebook.  You know,  I'd hate for you to miss something!

These were for a teen boy with a broken arm...

School sports are favorites.....

Sports, not necessarily college sports...
Cookies for her....

OK, that's all for this post.  If you see something you like, but would like different colors, just ask!

Faux Pas of the month!

Ok, so my last post was all about this big wedding order and how I forgot to take pictures to share with you, blah, blah.  Well, Monday's are usually my make a plan, get everything together, get supplies and get ready to make the cookies for the week day.  So...I went downstairs to collect dish towels to wash.  I noticed a box with cookies sitting on the table where I do the icing.  I did a double take!  Cookies?  What cookies?  Here is what I saw...
a box with 41 cookies that were supposed to be at a wedding reception last Saturday!!  I couldn't believe it.  To say I was embarrassed is an understatement.  I called Jennifer, the bride's mom, and fessed up.  She didn't even realize the order was short.  Too many people taking care of too many things.  She did tell me that Ashley loved the cookies and I was happy to hear that.  I delivered the missing cookies this evening and was assured it was no big deal.  I bet that never happens again!  It was the last box to be filled and it didn't get carried over to the "staging" area for loading in to the car.  A lesson learned....

Pictures? ...and 4th of July

I did it again!  No pictures!  I'm trying to post once a week showing the cookies I made for the week.  It's hard to show the cookies when I forget to take pictures.  I haven't been able to figure out where to put a note or something to remind me to take pictures.  I'm not sure anything will work at this point.

Nevertheless, I had a large order this week, 22 dozen monogram wedding cookies.  I intended to show you what 22 doz cookies looks like.  It's a lot of cookies.  Since I can't show you the pic, here's an image of the design.

They were designed by the bride's mother.  Nice job Jenn!  They tied all the ribbons themselves.  All the bags were tied with a very pretty green satin ribbon.  I bet the wedding was beautiful.

Also, just a reminder, 4th of July is right around the corner.  If you need something to take to the annual holiday picnic, why not take cookies?  I'm just sayin....

Bachelorette Party and Wedding

Last Friday I delivered cookies for a bachelorette party.  The bride will be wearing an ivory dress and the groom will be wearing a tan suit with blue tie.  Bridesmaids will wear light blue and light green dresses.  So...all the cookies were made with light blue, light green and ivory/tan.  The hostess requested bra and panties hearts, corset,  bridesmaid dresses and bride and groom hearts.  Oh, I almost forgot the margarita. Here is a sampling of the cookies.  By the way, this is typically how cookies are delivered - each cookie individually packaged in a cellophane bag and tied with a coordinating ribbon.

On Saturday I received this email from Sarah B. (the hostess):       "I just wanted to let you know that your cookies received rave reviews at the bachelorette party! People wouldn't stop talking about them! Thanks so much again, they were wonderful!"

I never get tired of the compliments!  Thank you Sarah, it was a pleasure doing business with you.

I also had an order for a wedding reception.  I know I'm sounding like a broken record, but I forgot to take pics.   So, here's a pic of the sample that I emailed for the bride's approval.

These were designed to resemble the brides dress and the grooms attire.

They also ordered monogram cookies and this is the art work submitted to the bride (via the groom's mother) for approval.

Thank you  for your business Lisa.

That's it for last week.

Father's Day

Here's what I've put together for Father's Day this year.....

This is the image that I am going to put on a cookie card for my Dad.

You can create a cookie that represents your family to give the the special father in your life.  I have people images to choose from on my website HERE  The images can all be altered to change hair color and skin color.  Glasses and mustaches can be added or deleted.  And if you give me the age and names of each "person" I will size the pic to represent the ages and write the name below each face.

I know this is very last minute, but if you're like me you're procrastinating anyway!  If you want to give Dad a one of a kind gift you need to get your order in ASAP.

I have to have your order by Thursday June 17 if you want to pick up on Saturday June 19.  I will deliver when possible.

I will have to size the images to accommodate the number of family members.  The cookie will be a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" cookie, the sentiment will be the same on all cookies.  Each cookie will be individually packaged in a cellophane bag.

This is a Special Offer....you can order 6 cookies for $15.  You are not required to order the usual dozen minimum.

TO ORDER :

Send an email to info@memawscookies.com or call 816-237-8427

I will need to know the number (ex. Girl 1, or Guy 1, or Sitting Baby Boy)  of the images you want printed, the image number is listed below the image on my website.  I'll also need the changes you want to make to that image, the name and age of the person you're depicting.

If you have any other requests, please let me know.

HURRY - not much time left......

Fun Days Ahead

I put together this assortment of cookies for Christine.  She wanted 5 dozen cookies to surprise her mother who was a school teacher and was retiring at the end of the school year.  These were all "things" that were meaningful to her mother.  Thank you Christine, it was a pleasure working with you.

Cookies & Kiddos

Elmo for Kaden's third birthday party  -  Thanks Stacey!

Wedding cookies for Ericka and Doug - my gift to them.

I have a few other cookies I designed last week - I'll share them eventually.  There's a lot going on right now

Life between cookies?

My two youngest Grandkids, age 5 and 3,  spent the last 10 nights / 11 days with us while their parents and older brother went to Scout camp.  Last night was their first night back home.  I know they were very happy to see Mom and Dad again!  It was sure quiet this morning without my little alarm clocks jumping on my bed. They are so entertaining.

Here's Katelyn coasting down the hill full speed on her Big Wheel.  Did you notice the shoes?  On the wrong feet!!  She put them on herself and she is fine with that.

Here's Conner practicing throwing the football with  Pop Charlie.

There are so many cute pics of them it's hard to choose just one.

Ok enough about the little people.  Cookies to think about!!

Website Makeover

I suppose most everything we do is a process.....  My website has now morphed in to something I hope you'll find a little more useful than the original.  Go see for yourself, click on the button on the right.
I also wanted to show you some cookies I made recently.  I was happy with the way they turned out.  Shawnee Mission Hyundai used them for a promotional weekend event.  They were a big hit.

Ali & Pat

It took me a little longer than expected to get back to posting!  Here are the cookies I made for a bride that wanted to give cookies to her out of town guests.  She gave the cookies at her rehearsal dinner back in April..

There were some very late nights with this one.  I baked 5 dozen squares and applied frosting sheets that had the lavender background with Ali & Pat in script.  Just what the customer ordered.  I checked on the cookies after a couple hours and the lavender had turned a very pretty blue, not was I was going for.  So, baked another five dozen and tried again with  frosting sheets from a different shipment, you know, maybe the first batch I used were defective.  I had never had this happen before.  I used a different method to attach the second batch - guaranteed to work.  WRONG - bubbles came up on the cookies after about 10 hours.  No way were these going to be acceptable.  So, I was up in to the wee hours of the morning hand writing Ali & Pat on 60 cookies.  I was happy with the final cookie, but I'd prefer not to go through that again.  I'm thinking lavender is one of those colors that is difficult to achieve on a frosting sheet.  I'll try it again some day - not too soon.
