Bridal show was a success

I made a couple sales during the show and have several others that will be calling.  More importantly to me, I made several awesome business contacts, yay!.  I thought the new approach to a bridal show worked out well.  The trolley would pick up and drop off brides every 30 minutes.  That gave the brides and their families ample time to visit with each vendor before they caught the trolley to the next location.  I say "Jenn, brilliant idea".

The after party was a huge success.  A band called 90 minutes played - very good - good mix of music.  All the door prizes were given away and there were a lot of happy brides at the end of the night.  We'll be having another one in June, stay tuned for the location.  It promises to be a lot of fun.

Saturday I spent the day creating, baking and icing 5 dozen cookies for a teacher's retirement.  I'll share pictures tomorrow.

Getting Ready for Big Reveal KC

Yesterday I spent a good part of the day baking 2 inch round cookies for tasting samples for the bridal show this coming Friday night.  Today has been one long day icing the 500 cookies.

Tomorrow I'll bag them all and start packing everything to take to the show.  I need some tips for photographing cookies!!

It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun.  It's a new concept, sort of like a First Fridays in the arts district only it's for brides.  They get a chance to go to several venues and check them out for potential wedding or reception locations.  While there they can visit with other vendors, like me ;), for services or goods wedding related.  The show is from 5 to 9 and there is an after party from 9 to midnight with a band and door prizes in an outdoor area behind Grinders.  I have donated a $50 gift certificate from MeMaw's Cookies.  I know there are several other great prizes to be given away.  Please, tell any future bride you know about the chance to participate.

I'm taking the plunge!

I've been reading blogs for a long time now. I've decided to join the ranks. I generally work on baking and decorating cookies by day and spend my evenings keeping up with other cookie bakers for ideas and inspiration. I think it will be fun to record the evolution of MeMaw's Cookies. It's certainly come a long way in the last year. More another day.......
